Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity's Operations Support Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation, maintenance, safety, and technology needs of the organization's offices, ReStores, warehouses, and construction operations. Working under the direction of the Facilities & Asset Manager, performs preventative maintenance, responds to maintenance and technology service requests, assists with workplace safety initiatives, and supports facility improvement projects. The Operations Support Technician helps ensure Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity’s facilities and operational systems remain safe, functional, and efficient in support of the organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities Facility Maintenance & Operations- Performs preventative maintenance of Habitat facilities, equipment, and work spaces.
- Completes minor repairs including painting, drywall repair, lighting replacement, ceiling tile replacement, basic carpentry, door hardware, furniture assembly, and minor plumbing repairs.
- Responds to routine maintenance requests and resolves facility-related issues in a timely manner.
- Assists with office renovations, facility improvements, and special projects.
- Performs seasonal grounds maintenance and beautification activities.
- Maintains maintenance logs, work orders, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Assists with vendor coordination and monitors contracted work as directed.
- Maintains inventories of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Provides first-level technical support to staff for computers, printers, mobile devices, and office technology.
- Configures and deploys computers, monitors, printers, and other technology equipment.
- Assists with workstation setup for new employees.
- Performs routine hardware maintenance, software updates, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Maintains inventory of technology assets and assists with technology documentation.
- Supports conference room technology, digital displays, and other office technology systems.
- Assists with facility safety inspections and identifies potential hazards.
- Supports OSHA compliance initiatives and maintains required safety documentation.
- Assists with maintaining emergency equipment, first aid supplies, AEDs, fire extinguishers, and safety signage.
- Supports safety training activities and emergency preparedness efforts.
- Assists in implementing organizational safety policies and procedures.
- Assists with office moves, furniture installation, meeting setup, and organizational events.
- Maintains organized storage areas, maintenance shops, and supply rooms.
- Supports operational improvement initiatives and special projects.
- Collaborates with departments across the organization to provide operational support.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.
Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, construction, information technology support, or a related field
- Working knowledge of general building maintenance and repair techniques
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft 365
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Facilities Management, Information Technology, Construction Management, Building Maintenance, or a related field
