Engineer Building

Med Star Health seeks a Building Engineer to support safe, reliable facility operations across our healthcare campuses. In this role, you will inspect, maintain, and repair building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable, and regulatory-compliant environment for patients, visitors, and associates. You'll respond to service calls, perform preventive maintenance, support renovations and equipment upgrades, and partner closely with clinical and support teams.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate, and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems to support safe hospital operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs using CMMS work orders to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Monitor and troubleshoot building automation and control systems to optimize comfort and efficiency.
• Support life-safety systems, including generators, fire alarms, and emergency power, to meet regulatory standards.
• Respond to urgent maintenance calls to resolve issues affecting patient care areas and critical equipment.
• Assist with facility renovations, equipment installations, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in compliance with codes and policies.
• Collaborate with clinical, environmental services, and security teams to maintain a safe, reliable care environment.
