Summary

You will serve as a Park Guide, GS-009-5 at Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument (U.S. National Park Service).

• Career Seasonal:
  This is a Career-Seasonal position and subject to release and recall procedures. A permanent career-seasonal position includes all the benefits of permanent employment, but does not provide employment on a full year-round basis. Selectees will work a minimum of 25 pay periods to a maximum of 25 pay periods and be in a non-pay/non-duty status for at least 2 weeks per year based on project requirements or weather conditions.
• The typical season for Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument is January–December. (Non-pay period 1/10/27 to 1/23/2027.)
• As a Park Guide, GS-0090-5 with Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument, the work includes: being part of staff at the information counter in a visitor center; answering questions on a variety of subjects; guiding small groups and providing services to visitors; performing duties that require broad subject-matter knowledge of the park; guiding large groups (up to 50 people) on longer walks or programs;
  
  providing a wide range of services to park visitors; orienting and explaining current park events and warning of safety hazards; familiarity with managing and maintaining digital media platforms, including web pages; developing content for communications and social media platforms, including digital products and graphics for program marketing and promotion.

• You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
• You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
• You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
• As a condition of employment, you will be required to serve a one-year period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated.
