Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Summary
Perform on-site technical and administrative duties within a manufacturing environment at Quaker Houghton’s customer account under the direction of senior staff or management.
- Work with customer products and processes, seeking opportunities to improve the customer's processes and their application of Quaker Houghton products.
- Know when products and services are used.
- Interact with customer production and technical personnel and suppliers.
- Order and record inventory of chemical products.
- Acquire, record, and analyze process and usage data.
- Recognize and explain quantifiable benefits of a service or product performance.
- Report and interpret results and usage daily, generate reports, and complete corrective actions following proper guidelines.
- Assist site staff with project management.
- Maintain tools and utility equipment such as pumps, sump suckers, coolant dispensers, etc. safely and efficiently.
- Inspect and perform routine maintenance on equipment and fluid systems, including product additions, filter changes, emptying gons, and sump cleaning, with no guidance from site staff.
- Lead and conduct meetings, anticipate customer requests and needs, and deliver concise next steps after reviewing value proposition and best practices.
- Implement and follow safety protocols; perform pre‑task plans and all pre‑operation inspections.
- Collect, analyze, test, interpret, and record machine samples as required.
- Recommend and complete corrective actions with no direction from site staff.
- Perform and interpret bio‑stick dip tests of all sumps and central systems with little to no guidance; recommend and complete corrective actions.
- Inspect, monitor, and maintain coolant filters, washers, paint systems, air handling systems, etc., for sump changes and cleaning to keep fluids within proper limits; complete corrective actions following guidelines.
- Make the addition of chemicals, including coolants, greases, oils, lubricants, cleaners, and biocides to fluid systems.
- Prepare reports regarding project and process information or improvements and present them with assistance and support.
