Rock Lake Retreats & Events – College Station, TX
Contract Position | Part-Time (Approx. 6–15 hrs/week depending on events)
Rock Lake Retreats & Events is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hospitality-minded Contract Event & Facilities Assistant. This role supports event setup and teardown, maintains a clean and welcoming property, and completes light maintenance and ranch-style tasks throughout the week. Ideal candidates are positive, hardworking, and physically capable of lifting and moving tables, chairs, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities Event Setup & Hospitality (Hours based on scheduled events)- Set up and arrange tables, chairs, ceremony seating, and event layouts according to diagrams or instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness of event spaces before, during, and after rentals.
- Empty, replace, and manage trash and recycling throughout the property.
- Monitor property needs during events and proactively address issues (trash, supplies, cleanliness, guest support).
- Provide exceptional hospitality—being helpful, polite, and attentive to guests and vendors.
- Assist with event teardown, storage, and resetting spaces.
- Spray for weeds along walkways, flower beds, and key outdoor areas.
- Distribute ant bait and monitor pest control needs.
- Perform small repairs (tightening screws, patching minor damage, replacing simple hardware).
- Assist with trash removal and using a variety of tools.
- Complete light ranch chores as assigned.
- Reliable and dependable with consistent communication.
- Positive attitude and customer-service mindset.
- Strong physical ability to lift, carry, and move tables, chairs, and equipment (up to ~50 lbs).
- Attention to detail in event setup, cleanliness, and property presentation.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Problem solver—able to see what needs to be done and take initiative without constant direction.
- Basic handyman or facility maintenance skills are a plus.
- Clean criminal and driving record.
- Flexible schedule based on event calendar.
- Weekend and evening availability may be required depending on events. Setup will normally be Fridays and Saturdays, with some late evenings until 1:00am.
- Approximately 6 hours/week of regular facilities work, plus additional hours for event days.
- Compensation: $15 per hour.
