Working as a Facilities Maintenance Technician I, you can expect to help maintain Town buildings and facilities by performing preventative maintenance and assisting with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building repairs. You'll replace lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, ballasts, exhaust fans, and cooler motors; support the maintenance of heating, cooling, and air distribution systems; assist with plumbing repairs involving toilets, faucets, drains, pipes, and fixtures;
and complete minor carpentry projects such as repairing doors, windows, shelving, and molding. You'll also help move and assemble office furniture for departments and special events, repair locks on doors and cabinets, gather tools and materials for daily projects, and perform routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and tools to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and ready for use. Other related duties may be assigned as needed.
Here is what you must have to be considered for the position of Facilities Maintenance Technician I:
High school diploma or GED
One (1) year previous experience and/or training involving facility maintenance operations work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
Valid Driver's License
