The Janitor is responsible for performing heavy cleaning duties to ensure buildings are maintained in a clean and orderly condition. This role involves using a variety of cleaning equipment and chemicals, managing cleaning supplies, and notifying management of major repairs needed.

The Janitor II ensures compliance with safety regulations and contributes to a hygienic and safe environment for employees and visitors.

Responsibilities:

• Clean floors, shampoo rugs, wash walls and glass, remove rubbish, and vacuum areas to maintain cleanliness.
• Utilize power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and other cleaning equipment effectively.
• Follow procedures for the safe use of chemical cleaners and handle hazardous materials responsibly.
• Inspect and repair motorized cleaning equipment to ensure it is in working order.
• Track and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment needed for maintenance.
• Regularly inspect building operating systems and notify management of any necessary major repairs or improvements.
• Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation for large hangars and buildings. This is a physically demanding position requiring continuous movement and frequent travel between buildings throughout the workday.
• Duties include cleaning and sanitizing multiple restrooms and kitchen areas, removing trash, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and maintaining floors in hangars. Responsible for using floor equipment, including a Zamboni floor scrubber.
• This position requires prolonged periods of walking, frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting. The job requires working independently, maintaining a fast paced work load, and ensuring multiple facilities remain clean and sanitary.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience in a related field.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment operation.
• Ability to complete scheduled, routine tasks quickly and efficiently without close supervision.
• Must be capable of climbing stairs, ladders, and working on a stationary ladder.
• Familiarity with the safe use of tools and cleaning products.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Certification in custodial or janitorial services.
• Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
• Familiarity with advanced cleaning equipment and safety procedures.
• Previous experience as a janitor
• Experience working with hand and power tools

Essential Functions:

• Ability to work on-site.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the work shift.
• Manual dexterity to handle cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to work in potentially hazardous or loud environments.
• Ability to travel as required.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $17.36 - $23.86. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
