Cleaner

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in lodging guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned areas. This includes sweeping, dry mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors; dusting, waxing, and polishing furniture; cleaning and sanitizing guest room appliances, cooking utensils, and dishes; emptying wastebaskets; polishing door knobs and other metal fixtures; washing walls, windows, and blinds; making beds and changing linen;

collecting soiled linen; receiving clean linen; and updating room status, occupancy, and checkouts using the telephone system.

Additionally, the Cleaner will clean, disinfect, and deodorize lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls; clean mirrors, sinks, and water fountains; dust ledges, woodwork, and furniture; replace deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, and other complimentary sundry items; and report any broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains, or other maintenance issues to the supervisor.

The Cleaner is also responsible for keeping a stock of cleaning materials and equipment, advising the supervisor when more materials are needed or when equipment needs repair or replacement, and performing other related duties as assigned.
