PCSI is looking for a Grounds Maintenance Worker at Schriever Space Force Base! The candidate we are looking for is motivated, friendly and a team member to assist us in performing the groundskeeper and maintenance duties. The right person will have a proactive attitude and takes pride in their accomplishments. This position will report to the Contract Manager and is based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Typical work hours will be 7:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday – Friday – flexible schedules due to snow events.PCSI is an Ability One employer—as such, individuals and veterans with disabilities may be prioritized based on role. Documentation may be required. Benefits Include
- Base Pay is $21.63/hr.

- Perform a variety of routine, unskilled and semi-skilled grounds maintenance functions while maintaining the assigned location(s). Additionally, may perform semi-skilled craft trades to support assigned contract.
- Adhere to safety guidelines including wearing safety gear i.e., safety toe work boots.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment and vehicles.
- Monitor grounds and ensure parking lots and walkways are free of debris, as well as mow and trim lawns using Tools and industry equipment.
- During inclement weather, required to remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas using snowplows, snow shovels, and spread melting chemicals.
- Required to maintain and ensure operational equipment through inspections, cleaning and or repairs.
- A High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year of prior experience working as grounds maintenance is preferred or any combination of education and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work.
- Ability to use tools of the trade, including grounds keeping equipment.
- Knowledge of methods used in grounds keeping, including use of all types of lawn equipment.
- Ability to climb, bend, squat, push, lift and carry objects ranging from 10-50 pounds; prolong walking up to 90%.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and speed in the work performed.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and some machinery.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures in place to perform duties assigned.
- Ability to work as a team member and independently to complete work orders.
- Ability to assist and communicate with others as needed and establish effective working relationships.
- Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors, as well as various chemicals.
- Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
