Performs a wide range of maintenance tasks—including unskilled, semi‑skilled, and skilled work—in the construction, operation, repair, and upkeep of the Town’s infrastructure. This includes sewers, streets, parks, storm drainage systems, facilities, and buildings. Safely operates various hand tools, power equipment, construction machinery, and vehicles to support these activities.
The Maintenance Worker I may often perform basic duties required by the Maintenance Worker II but is not expected to have the depth of experience skill level and certifications. As a result, the Maintenance Worker I will work with fewer tools and mechanical equipment and have fewer opportunities for working independently and making judgements on matters related to work procedures and methods.
The Maintenance Worker II differs from a Maintenance Worker I in that the incumbent performs more complex maintenance duties. They typically will operate more independently, exercising judgement, and operating the full range of tools and mechanical equipment needed.
The Maintenance Worker III differs from a Maintenance Worker II in that the incumbent performs complex and specialized maintenance duties and projects. They will operate more independently, exercising judgement, and operating the full range of tools and mechanical equipment needed. This position may act as an on‑site foreman with limited supervision of staff.
Work ArrangementThe position requires on‑site presence and is not a remote role.
Supervision Received- MWI: This is an entry‑level position that works under the immediate supervision of the Maintenance Worker III and direct supervision of the Operations Supervisor (Parks & Public Works)
- MWII: This is a journey‑level position that works under the general supervision of the Operations Supervisor (Parks & Public Works) or a higher‑level Maintenance Worker
- MWIII: This is a senior‑level position that works with minimal supervision of the Operations Supervisor (Parks & Public Works) and may provide field supervision to MWI and MW II.
- Maintenance Worker I: $23.78 (Hr Min) – $32.10 (Max)
- Maintenance Worker II: $25.61 (Hr Min) – $35.85 (Max)
- Maintenance Worker III: $28.17 (Hr Min) – $39.44 (Max)

Responsibilities- Operates power mowers, aerators, and other specialized equipment for maintaining parks, open spaces, landscape projects, and minor construction projects
- Operates trucks and snowplow equipment of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, gravel, and sand to remove snow from trails, sidewalks, and parking lots
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance of all playground equipment and park equipment including shelter, benches, and signage
- Performs general maintenance and pruning of trees and shrubs to landscaped areas throughout the Town
- Performs routine inspection, cleaning and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to supervisor
- Ensures the proper maintenance of tools by cleaning and checking tools after use
- Performs required labor involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew, including pavement cutting, excavation, mowing, seeding, fertilizing, sewer manhole and line cleaning, main and pipe repair, pipe placement, and back filling
- Assists in the training of seasonal staff or junior level employees, as assigned, to increase their skills in the maintenance, construction and repair of sewer, street, and storm drainage facilities and equipment operations
- Performs all duties in compliance to appropriate safety and security standards
