Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the County Facilities Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing a variety of custodial and semi‑skilled duties in the maintenance of buildings and grounds.

Job Duties
- Clean restrooms daily by cleaning and sanitizing toilets, washing stalls and walls, scrubbing floors, emptying trash, and replenishing soap and paper products.
- Dust, wipe all counter areas, empty trash, clean stairs, corners, and baseboards, and vacuum carpeted areas.
- Water plants throughout buildings according to a predetermined schedule.
- Wash windows and clean blinds according to a predetermined schedule.
- Mow and trim the lawn areas; weed and pick up trash as necessary.
- Shovel snow, maintain sidewalks, and assist in keeping premises safe and orderly.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of custodial supplies and equipment.
- Perform minor facility maintenance for internal work order requests, including changing light bulbs, hanging pictures, escorting vendors, and replacing filters.
- Clean hard‑surface areas in or around the kitchenette.
- Perform insect and rodent control.
- Maintain confidentiality when cleaning offices containing confidential information.
- Protect secure areas of the County facilities by ensuring doors are locked and preventing unauthorized access.
- Work flexible hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Four to six years of work experience as a custodian, janitor, or facilities worker.
- Proficient in using materials, tools, procedures, and safety rules involved in maintaining buildings, grounds, and other facilities.
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods and in all kinds of weather.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to understand and convey information to customers, subordinates, peers, and supervisors.
- Courteous and effective working relationships with the public, County departments, co‑workers, and other agencies.
Special Requirements
- Valid Colorado Motor Vehicle Driver's License.
- Pass a background check: criminal and traffic.
- Working phone, either landline or cell phone.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (U.S. citizenship or legal authorization).
There are no supervisory duties related to this position.
Physical Requirements And Work EnvironmentFrequent standing, use of hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands or arms; walking, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crawling, or crouching; extensive hand and eye coordination; lifting and moving objects from 10 to 50 pounds; operating equipment of varying sizes. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision; hearing voice conversation. Work is performed indoors and outdoors, exposing employees to all types of weather and non‑weather conditions such as extremes of temperature, fumes, odors, dirt, dust, and wind.
Occasionally operate a County vehicle in both excellent and poor driving conditions. Duties may require climbing and manual dexterity.
This position is an extreme exposure risk to biohazards: blood‑borne pathogens (HIV, HAV, HBV) and airborne transmission of TB. Members are advised that exposure may result in severe illness or death. Protective equipment and clothing are required; vaccinations against HAV, HBV, chickenpox, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, meningococcal, measles, mumps, rubella, and influenza may be required. Declination of vaccination may require signing a declaration.
The County provides inoculation for the aforementioned diseases.
Employees may be temporarily reassigned to perform emergency response or disaster recovery duties within their department or in other County departments during a County‑declared emergency or disaster, as authorized under the Clear Creek County Employee Disaster Deployment Policy. Such assignments will align with operational needs and the employee's skills and may occur with limited notice. Employees will continue to receive their regular compensation in accordance with County policies and applicable labor laws during such assignments.
