SummaryThe Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining the warehouse, coolers, shipping dock, and production areas in a clean and orderly condition. The associate also cleans and sanitizes the processing room and equipment after production activities, in accordance with the established master sanitation schedule and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities- Keep staging area and warehouse floors clean.
- Keep the back dock, front entrance, and patio grounds clean and sanitary when weather permits.
- Perform duties based on a master cleaning schedule.
- Cleans warehouse areas, including packing rooms, dry storage, coolers, docks, and exterior areas, using various cleaning tools (e.g., brooms, mops, brushes, dustpans, cleaning chemicals, and dust cloths).
- Sweep and keep production floors clear of organic product waste, paper, plastic, wood, and other trash.
- Removes trash buckets to the disposal area and returns empty buckets for line use.
- Remove the boxed waste products from the production area and dispose of them in a dumpster or disposal.
- Dry cleanup for equipment and floors before wet cleaning.
- Remove product as needed from machines and conveyors before wet cleaning.
- Obtain chemicals and detergents as needed and mix them to the required concentrations for cleaning. Follow all required handling practices, including the use of PPE. Document sanitizer strengths for every service on the Production Area Cleaning Log and give it to the supervisor at the end of the month.
- Clean equipment and floors according to Sanitation SOP's.
- Compliant with GMP and SQF policies and procedures.
- Completing logs for cleaning, sanitation, and records as required in SOP's.
- Operate a forklift or scissor lift to move materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to work from elevated platforms up to 30 feet high regularly and continuously.
Preferred Skills- 6 months of experience working in a position cleaning equipment in a manufacturing or similar industry.
- Must be self‑disciplined, a team player, and be able to handle emergencies common to the operation.
- Must be able to maintain and display personal cleanliness and follow GMPs as described in company guidelines.
- Must be able to write clearly and in an organized fashion.
- Demonstrated understanding and following of sanitation procedures, chemical concentrations, and chemical safety procedures.
- Able to stop, stand, kneel, and walk for the shift.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs using proper lifting techniques learned in safety training.
- Self‑motivated and able to ensure work is completed promptly.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Punctual and dependable.
- Good problem‑solving skills and result‑oriented

Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
