We have operated in Colorado for more than 100 years, with mining and milling operations near Leadville, Kremmling and Empire. Our Climax Mine is located between Frisco and Leadville – the seat of Lake County and the highest incorporated city in the United States.
Employees who are required to work on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines. The location offers outdoor recreation and a community of schools and amenities.
We are looking for a skilled mechanic, who under direct supervision, can safely perform diagnostic, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders. The Fuel Dock Attendant is responsible for fueling and servicing all equipment arriving at the fuel island and will perform any necessary repairs or troubleshooting during this time.
Employees will rotate through various roles—including Lube Truck, Fuel Dock Attendant, and Tool Room—approximately every six months.
- Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on machine systems such as hydraulic, power train and engines.
- Duties will include fueling equipment, managing spill cleanup, maintaining clear and safe access routes, and coordinating earthwork and snow removal.
- Operate equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, skid steers, haul trucks, motor graders, rubber tire and track dozers, front-end loaders, backhoes, snowblowers and boom trucks.
- Maintain work orders and a clean and safe work area, and perform area inspections.
- Support waste management, restock supplies, and maintain cleanliness across the area including break rooms and restrooms.
- At least one (1) year in relevant trade or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Completed academic and practical competencies required, including Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP exists, and the ability to pass a written assessment where required.
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English.
- Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments, procedures and safety standards.
- Ability to read and use schematics.
- Knowledge of machine systems such as hydraulic, power train, and engines.
- High School diploma or GED.
The estimated pay range for this role is $26.00 – $33.00 per hour, reflecting base salary only and not including bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job‑related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
