Starting Pay Range
  • $17.15 - $22.30/hr., depending on experience
Position Status
  • Part-Time, non-exempt

  • Nights = +10% of base wage (after 6pm)
  • Weekends = +15% of base wage

Job Summary

Responsible for routine and restorative floor and carpet care throughout Haxtun Hospital District facilities. This position performs specialized floor-care duties using commercial equipment, chemicals, and established techniques to maintain clean, safe, and well-maintained environments. The Floor Technician works independently and collaboratively to complete scheduled and project-based floor maintenance while minimizing disruption to patient care and facility operations. The position may assist with general Environmental Services duties when operational needs require;

however, specialized floor and carpet care is the primary function of the role.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn and safely perform routine and restorative floor-care techniques.
  • Ability to safely operate, guide, and maintain control of commercial floor-care equipment, including rotary stripping and buffing equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, equipment instructions, chemical labels, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and established procedures.
  • Ability to recognize unsafe conditions, equipment problems, and flooring concerns and report them appropriately.
  • Ability to organize work and complete assigned projects with limited supervision after appropriate training and competency validation.
  • Ability to work effectively around patients, residents, visitors, employees, and clinical operations while minimizing disruption.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous commercial floor-care, custodial, housekeeping, or Environmental Services experience
  • Previous healthcare Environmental Services experience
  • Experience operating commercial floor-care equipment. Equivalent training or demonstrated ability to learn the required equipment and techniques may be considered.
