Grounds Assistant
Bayfield School District is seeking a full time Grounds Assistant to maintain the physical school building in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times. Perform a variety of duties related to grounds operations and activities.

· Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. · Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating District activities related to the grounds care, maintenance of sports fields, playgrounds and other facilities.
· Assist in organizing, coordinating and scheduling playground maintenance and repairs and notifying site personnel regarding scheduled work.
· Assist in inspection of school facilities for proper utilization of time, materials and equipment, and monitoring quality of work performed.
· Assist in determining needed equipment, materials and supplies for the District operations; requisition supplies, tools and equipment as needed
· Knowledge of basic school district work policies and guidelines; knowledge of departmental practices and procedures.
· Prepare and maintain various water and playground records, files and reports.
· Complies with local laws and procedures for the disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste.
· Takes part in training update as directed.
· On call for emergency repairs.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
