Your Role as a HousekeeperAssisted Living Community
Americare Senior Living is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, team members, and visitors. This role plays a vital part in resident satisfaction, safety, and quality of life.
What You'll Do- Plan, organize, and follow assigned cleaning schedules
- Perform cleaning assignments in resident rooms and common areas
- Ensure compliance with cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control standards
- Prepare resident rooms for new move-ins following discharge
- Report maintenance and repair needs to the supervisor
- Monitor housekeeping inventory and communicate supply needs
- Assist with plant and flower care as assigned
- Safely handle cleaning chemicals and ensure proper labeling per OSHA standards
- Maintain work carts and equipment in a clean and safe condition
- Attend required in-service training and staff meetings
- Collaborate with other departments to support smooth daily operations
- Stand, sit, walk, and change positions frequently
- Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with tasks requiring pushing or pulling up to 100 lbs.
- Crouch, kneel, balance, stoop, and bend as needed
- Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves and face protection
- Use proper lifting techniques and lumbar support when needed
- Wear non-slip, supportive footwear
- Follow OSHA standards for hazardous chemicals and SDS guidelines
- Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation
- Participate in company drug testing procedures
This position operates primarily indoors in an Assisted Living community with adequate lighting and ventilation. Occasional interaction with residents during activities or events may occur.
Qualifications- Grade school education required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, resident-centered environment
