Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician

McDaniels Auto Group is seeking an experienced Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician to assist with the general upkeep, troubleshooting, and minor repair needs of our dealership facilities.

This position will be based primarily in Columbia, SC, with occasional travel to other McDaniels Auto Group locations as needed.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, can diagnose common building maintenance issues, and knows the difference between a repair they can safely handle and one that needs to be referred to a licensed or specialized vendor.

This could be an excellent opportunity for an experienced or retired maintenance professional, tradesman, or facilities technician looking for steady part-time work without a full-time schedule.

• Perform general building and facility maintenance and minor repairs
• Troubleshoot and diagnose basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues
• Complete repairs within your experience and capabilities
• Identify issues requiring specialized service and coordinate with outside vendors when appropriate
• Perform small painting and touch-up projects
• Replace HVAC air filters and perform other routine preventive maintenance
• Complete minor fixture, hardware, door, and facility repairs
• Respond to maintenance needs at dealership locations
• Help identify developing maintenance problems before they become larger repairs
• Communicate repair needs, recommendations, and vendor requirements to management
• Maintain a safe, clean work area
• Occasionally travel between McDaniels Auto Group locations

• Previous professional experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or a related trade
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine an appropriate course of action
• Comfortable completing minor repairs and maintenance independently
• Must own and be able to use basic hand and power tools necessary for the position
• Ability to perform light physical work, use ladders, and safely perform typical maintenance duties
• Dependable, self-directed, and able to manage assigned work with limited supervision
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to occasionally travel to other company locations (hourly wage and mileage reimbursement applies for occasional travel, or per diem)

• Part-time – 30 hours per week or less
• Primarily based in Columbia, SC
• Schedule may vary depending on maintenance needs
• Occasional travel to other McDaniels Auto Group locations will be required

McDaniels Auto Group is a multi-location automotive dealership group with operations throughout South Carolina and Georgia. This position provides hands-on facilities support to help keep our dealerships safe, functional, and well maintained.
