Responsibilities- Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
- Lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks and make entries in aircraft logs and records.
- Troubleshoot systems as required to meet customer needs.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness by utilizing a clean-as-you-go process when executing maintenance duties.
- Comply with processes and procedures per Department of Defense (DoD) documents and publications.
- Use Government computer systems to access various technical references for repairs and complete training requirements.
- Follow drawings, blueprints, instructions, modification work orders (MWO), and technical manuals.
- Comply with safety rules and regulations while performing day to day maintenance.
- Promptly report all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and unsafe practices or procedures.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structures, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulics, engines, auxiliary power unit, ventilation, and heating systems.
- Replace or repair worn and damaged components such as alternators, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.

Qualification:
Requires successful completion of a respirator medical evaluation, OSHA questionnaire, fit test, and any other medically required screening before assignment and annually thereafter. - Sheet Metal Qualified:
Requires the ability to lay out, fabricate, assemble, repair, and install sheet metal and composite parts and interpret blueprints and technical data. - Avionics Work:
Requires thorough knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics systems, troubleshooting, repair procedures, and parts replacement.
Minimum Education /Experience/Certifications
- High school graduate or GED.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience with documented training on the MDS H60 series, a current FAA A&P license, and at least one (1) year of documented experience in general aviation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgement.
- Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams and schematics.
- Effective oral and technical written communication skills.
- Strong professional customer service skills to include active listening, prompt service and follow-up while maintaining confidentiality.
- Knowledge of equipment related to individual requirements of UH-60.
- Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications.
Aircraft areas/hangars, workshops, and other industrial settings.
Physical Requirements- Required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds. Most heavy lifting is accomplished using mechanical devices.
- This position is subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, pre-employment physical, and requires the ability to pass Fort Benning Base Access background screening requirements.
