Position Overview
The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs approximately 2,700 staff and oversees institutional strategic initiatives across New Jersey, including planning, construction, facilities, public safety, environmental health, transportation, housing, and auxiliary operations.
Rutgers University seeks a Custodian Group Leader within IP&O.
Posting SummaryCustodian Group Leader responsible for leading, training, and supervising a small team of custodians performing routine custodial duties and basic maintenance and repair of university facilities and equipment. The role may include responsibility for a building or campus sector and maintaining inventories, work orders, and other written records. All standard custodian duties are expected.
Responsibilities- Lead, oversee, and train custodians in routine custodial duties and basic maintenance and repair.
- Assume responsibility for a building, a group of buildings, or a campus sector.
- Maintain inventories, work orders, and other written records.
- Perform custodian duties as required.
Minimum
Education and Experience:
- Two years of experience in custodial work.
- Valid driver's license with at least two years of driving experience.
- Completion of Rutgers Defensive Driving Course.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English as required for job duties.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must lift and carry up to 50 pounds and operate all custodial machines and equipment.
- May be required to work in inclement weather.
- Shift hours:
Monday – Friday, 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm.

Grade 12. Minimum Salary: $38,652.31. Mid-Range Salary: $45,294.20. Maximum Salary: $52,100.14.
