Floor Technician

Overview

Kellermeyer Bergensons Services (KBS) is the largest privately held provider of facility services in North America, servicing over 2 billion square feet of space daily. Starting Pay: $18.0 per hour.

Shifts Available:
Everyday 7 days a week 6am to 11am. This full‑time, permanent position requires the Floor Tech to perform duties within designated work areas as assigned at the beginning of each shift.

• Perform spot removal, extraction, bonnet cleaning, strip/wax, scrub/recoat, seal/grout, etc.
• Scrub, shine, clean, and repair carpeted and non‑carpeted areas using appropriate equipment and chemicals.
• Clean floors and stairways by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
• Move large furniture and objects when necessary and follow safety guidelines to prevent injury to themselves and others.
• Keep janitor closet neat, clean, and organized.
• Follow the manufacturer’s specifications for preparing chemicals and using the equipment.
• Ensure building doors and windows are secure and locked.
• Report to Supervisor needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring additional service.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Use of janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies is preferred but not required.
• One year of prior floor care experience is preferred.

• Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents (generally in English; may be in Spanish where state required).
• Lift and carry objects weighing from 15 to 25 pounds.
• Regularly bend, lift, stretch, and reach both below the waist and above the head.
• Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.
• Climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
• Exhibit dexterity in eye/hand coordination, foot pedals, pick‑pinch‑hold‑grasp, and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation).
• Must download and use the KBSPresence mobile time‑keeping app on a personal mobile device to clock in and out; cell‑phone reimbursement is provided in accordance with local law.
