Maintenance Technician - West Park Care Center

Overview

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance, the Maintenance Assistant helps with the general repair and maintenance of the facility’s building and grounds to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and the public. Maintenance services are provided in accord with facility policies and procedures and consistent with state and federal laws and regulations to maintain an environment that enhances the quality of life for all patients.

Maintains a clean and safe work environment in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

• General repairs of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Painting, trash pickup, and disposal

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the essential functions of the job
• Effective use of interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Initiative and flexibility in work environment
• Ability to establish and carry out priorities

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift a maximum of 300 lbs using appropriate lifting devices
• Ability to climb and work off of extension ladders

• Prior experience in a Senior Community is preferred
• Prior experience with Isolation/Infection Control is preferred
