Worthington City Schools District – Delaware, Ohio. One full‑time custodian working 8 hours per day, 1:45 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., Monday through Friday on a 261‑day calendar. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, maintenance, and operational tasks in and around a school building.

• Dust, mop, and clean floors in classrooms, hallways, locker rooms, auditorium, and stairs.
• Sweep, mop, and scrub restrooms, sinks, toilets, partitions, and mirrors.
• Vacuum carpeted floors and apply and buff wax to floors.
• Strip wax from floors and empty trash receptacles.
• Maneuver furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Set and disarm the security system.
• Sweep, shovel snow, and de‑ice steps and entrance ways.
• Change ballasts on fluorescent light fixtures, light bulbs, batteries on emergency exit lights, and light bulbs on other fixtures.
• Climb ladders and adjust ladders to replace light bulbs and clean light fixtures.
• Report and clean up damage from vandalism.
• Observe and assist students in halls or areas in which the custodian works.
• Communicate orally or in writing with the day or head custodian about problems encountered.
• Set up for meetings and perform minor maintenance tasks.

• Knowledge of methods, equipment, and cleaning solutions used in custodial work.
• Knowledge of mechanical and safety shut‑offs, fire extinguishers, tile floors, and work safety procedures.
• Ability to read and write, use minor hand and power tools, and operate heavy‑duty industrial buffers.
• Ability to perform heavy physical labor—including lifting heavy objects, bending, twisting, climbing ladders, and lifting arms above head.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and the public.
• Ability to use technology to complete daily and assigned tasks appropriate for the position.

Salary Range: $23.52/hr to $29.85/hr
