Sr. Maintenance Tech

Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for basic maintenance and facility upkeep. Responsibilities include general maintenance, preventative maintenance, grounds keeping, and painting. Supports other facilities associates, projects, and activities based on organizational needs. Duties vary based on campus location, business needs, and/or seasonality.

Maintenance General & Preventative

• Perform Preventative Maintenance on Equipment and Systems to ensure effective facilities operations within a healthcare environment.
• Preventative Maintenance includes HVAC, plumbing, mechanical rooms, electrical systems, equipment, windows, doors, elevators, and more.
• Respond to service calls involving Ohio Health properties including administrative, patient care, public areas. Services include cleaning/adjusting/testing/repairing/replacing HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting/switches/outlets/wiring, and other equipment/systems.
• Troubleshoot minor medical gas equipment and kitchen equipment.

General Corrective Maintenance in Plant Operations

• Maintain boilers, chillers, pumps, heat exchangers.
• Repair equipment used in patient care (beds, wheelchairs, stretchers) and administrative areas (chairs, desks, office equipment).
• Repair equipment in public areas (chairs, tables, shelves).
• Contact vendors for warranty compliance and pricing for non-warranty projects.
• Service calls for carpentry and painting in patient care, administrative, and public areas following building and life safety codes.
• Repair/hang doors, replace locks, repair ceilings, wall repairs, wall protection installation, windows, floors, furniture, cabinets, glass, equipment installation.
• Perform minimal painting/patching responsibilities.

Equipment and Facility Inspection

• Coordinate/inspect projects, physical structures, and equipment to ensure quality standards, approved timelines, and compliance with city/state codes and JCAHO.

Additional duties as requested by supervisor. Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency as a High Reliability Organization. Duties may change; not exhaustive.

• High School or GED (Required)
• Driver's License

• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, commercial heating and cooling.
• Knowledge of building safety codes, blueprints, manufacturer’s instructions.
• Experience with hand and power tools, electronics, electricity, plumbing, mechanical workings.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• 2–3 years in commercial or building maintenance.
