The City of Gahanna is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker II to perform multiple functions including emergency repair, general maintenance, and preventive maintenance in the new Civic Center. This position will be responsible for gathering first-hand knowledge from contractors, designers, architects, and systems specialists on operations of facility systems including HVAC, electric, and plumbing.

This position is a full-time, hourly, classified position with the Department of Public Service. This position is subject to Gahanna Civil Service Commission rules and testing. The civil service examination for this position will be a training and experience evaluation. Your application will be used for the training and evaluation scoring. Gahanna Civil Service Rules

The Maintenance Worker II is responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance work both inside and outside of City buildings. Under the direction of the Facilities Superintendent, this position performs multiple functions that are essential to the operations of the City including emergency repair, general maintenance, and preventive maintenance.

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job's essential functions.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Two (2) years of building construction and/or building trades experience.

• Current and valid Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driver's abstract to meet criteria for insurability established by the City of Gahanna.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

** Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.
