Position Overview

Are you a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment? We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to take ownership of maintenance operations in our Columbus, Ohio commercial properties. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, tackling repairs, and ensuring that buildings are in top condition. At OAK+ELM, your contributions will matter, and your work will have a direct impact on our tenants and properties.

Key Responsibilities Property Maintenance & Repairs
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across OAK+ELM's Columbus portfolio.
  • Respond promptly to tenant service requests and maintenance emergencies.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building issues.
  • Ensure all properties meet safety, cleanliness, and operational standards.
Vendor & Equipment Management
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Oversee service contracts and ensure work is completed to OAK+ELM's high standards.
Preventative Maintenance & Compliance
  • Implement preventative maintenance schedules to extend the life of building systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
  • Conduct property inspections to identify potential issues before they expand.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in commercial or residential property maintenance.
  • Strong technical skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • A proactive problem-solver who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Exceptional reliability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with tenants, vendors, and team members.
  • Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing are a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
