Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician

Kohl's Department Stores is seeking a Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our high-volume retail distribution operations. In this role, you'll lead maintenance for conveyors, sorters, forklifts, and building systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, coordinating repairs with vendors, and mentoring junior technicians. You'll help minimize downtime, support safety and quality initiatives, and partner closely with operations teams in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting and repair of conveyors, sorters, forklifts, and facility systems to minimize downtime.
• Perform and document preventive and predictive maintenance using CMMS tools.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on industrial equipment.
• Support, troubleshoot, and make minor adjustments to PLC-controlled systems and sensors.
• Coordinate with operations, vendors, and contractors on maintenance projects and equipment upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including OSHA and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to reliability and efficiency.
• Train and mentor junior maintenance technicians on best practices and safety.
• Assist with parts inventory management and maintenance of technical documentation.
• Respond to urgent maintenance calls and support off-shift or weekend coverage as needed.
