We’re looking for a maintenance leader who’s done this before—and done it well. If you have recent, hands‑on experience supervising maintenance teams in apartment communities (multi‑family, 4+ direct reports), we want to talk.
Important:
Only candidates with at least 2 years of RECENT apartment (multi‑family) maintenance supervisory experience (teams of 4+) will be considered.
You’ll oversee the day‑to‑day maintenance operations for a luxury apartment portfolio (about 120 homes) in Columbus’s vibrant Short North. This is a working supervisor position—expect to lead from the front, tackling service requests, apartment turns, and preventive maintenance right alongside your team.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Lead & Mentor:
Directly supervise, coach, and develop a maintenance team of 4+ members. - Daily Operations:
Prioritize, delegate, and follow up on all work orders and emergency requests. - Apartment Readiness:
Oversee (and help with) apartment turns—every home must meet high standards. - Technical Expertise:
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and more. - Preventive Maintenance:
Build and execute proactive maintenance plans. - Inventory Management:
Keep supplies organized and stocked. - Community Standards:
Ensure the property looks great and meets safety requirements. - Resident Relations:
Deliver excellent customer service and communication. - On-Call Leadership:
Participate in the on-call rotation.
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on apartment (multi‑family) maintenance experience
- Minimum 2 years of RECENT supervisory experience managing a maintenance team of at least 4 (apartment/multi‑family only)
- Proven skill in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, drywall, and general repairs
- EPA Certification required
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and leadership abilities
- Experience with apartment turns and preventive maintenance
- Excellent communicator with a resident‑first mindset
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
