Cryogenics Service Manager
This position works directly with sales, purchasing, and other departments to oversee all cryogenic operations, including installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of cryogenic systems and equipment. The role leads a team of technicians while ensuring strict adherence to safety standards, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. It requires strong technical expertise in cryogenic systems (liquid oxygen, nitrogen, argon, CO₂) combined with leadership and process management capabilities.
The position also trains and equips the cryogenic technician team to perform their duties and maintains General Air facility maintenance.

- Manage and direct a technically proficient workforce
- Designs and develops gas and cryogenic delivery systems
- Combine and interface multiple cryogenic equipment and gas delivery systems with customers’ applications
- Perform service calls, troubleshoot systems, perform preventative maintenance, repairs, verification, and installation of cryogenic and gas delivery systems
- Execute all service requests in a complete, timely manner, completing the form before leaving the customer location
- Supervise, train, and develop cryogenic technicians and service personnel
- Develop and implement department activity Work Instructions
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed
- Co-conduct and lead LMA’s and L10 Team Meetings
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and on-call rotations
- Communicate daily with cryogenic personnel regarding expectations, job priorities, work quality, and regulation compliance
- Effectively communicate with all stakeholders to ensure quality of final work
- Ensure all work meets quality and compliance standards
- Serve as the primary escalation point for customer technical issues
- Oversee maintenance and tracking of cryogenic equipment and service vehicles
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and critical spares
- Ensure proper documentation of all service work, inspections, calibrations, and repairs
- Participate in higher level facility operations
- Quality Assessment and Control for all installations
- Perform all duties in a safe manner, including appropriate use of all Personal Protective Equipment
- On-call duty
- Other duties as assigned
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred)
- Mechanical/plumbing/electrical background
- 5–10+ years of experience in cryogenic systems, industrial gas, or related field (preferred)
- 2–5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience (preferred)
- Strong Customer Service attitude
- Clean MVR
- Applicable Code requirements – NFPA, IFC, ASME, DOT, IBC, NEC, FDA-HCI SOPs
- Local Code Amendments
- Cryogenic principles
- Cryogenic vessels
- Cryogenic vaporizer and delivery systems
- Cryogenic system design and build requirements
- Environmental Monitoring theory, equipment and calibration
- Basic understanding of electricity and electrical components
- Strong understanding of industry gases and hazards associated

- Communicates well, both written and verbally, with all appropriate people

- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing and pulling up to 100 lbs
