Maintenance Collection System Worker
The City of Concord is hiring one full-time Maintenance Collection System Worker in the Infrastructure Division of the Public Works Department.
What you will do in this role:
The Maintenance Collection System Worker performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance including operational and repair tasks involved in the City's wastewater collection system.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a valid California commercial driver’s license OR has a Collection System Maintenance certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association.
- Has knowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices including those associated with working in confined spaces.
- Has knowledge of traffic control, pertinent regulations, principles and practices of customer service.
- Has technical knowledge of how equipment, machines, and systems work and how to keep them running efficiently.
- Has the ability to read maps, blue prints, and diagrams.
- Has the ability to work for extended periods of time in unfavorable weather conditions.
- Has a keen eye and attention to detail. Is highly organized and able to prioritize tasks. Is proactive in identifying problems and suggesting solutions.
- Has excellent written and oral communication skills and can provide clear information.
- Is comfortable working independently and as a team.
