Position Summary

The GMP Facilities Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance across Tobin Scientific’s GMP‑compliant storage and logistics facilities. This role supports operations in warehouse environments that include cold storage chambers, reach‑in units, and general material‑handling areas. The technician ensures that all facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with GMP standards to support the integrity of life science materials stored within the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine, corrective, and preventive maintenance on facility infrastructure, including warehouse equipment, cold storage chambers, reach‑in freezers/refrigerators, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs to inspect facility conditions and identify potential issues, documenting and escalating findings as needed.
  • Maintain reliable operation of critical temperature‑controlled units by responding promptly to alarms, performing basic troubleshooting, and coordinating with vendors for advanced repairs.
  • Support calibration and qualification activities for facility equipment in collaboration with Quality and Operations teams.
  • Assist with environmental monitoring tasks, including temperature checks, equipment condition assessments, and documentation updates.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant workplace by following GMP, GXP, EHS, and internal SOP requirements.
  • Perform general facilities tasks, such as minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and equipment upkeep.
  • Monitor and restock facility supplies, tools, and maintenance materials.
  • Participate in facility audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide on‑call or after‑hours support as needed for facility or temperature‑related issues.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in facilities, HVAC, or maintenance trades preferred.
  • 1‑3 years of facilities, maintenance, or warehouse experience; experience in a GMP or regulated environment strongly preferred.
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with cold storage systems, HVAC, or refrigeration units is a plus.
  • Ability to work in temperature‑controlled environments (cold rooms, freezers) when needed.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to complete accurate documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in a warehouse setting.
  • Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and operational reliability.

Minimum Annual Compensation

This position offers a minimum base salary of $80,000 per year
