Work ScheduleDays, Monday through Friday. Overtime is a requirement.
SalaryStarting hourly rate: $23.51 – $25.95. Top of pay scale: $31.58.
Essential Job Functions- Operate dump trucks, utility tractors, plow trucks, and other moderately complex construction and maintenance vehicles to transport material and perform maintenance activities.
- Perform plowing, snow removal, and salt/sand application on roadways and walkways during winter months.
- Retrieve and transport supplies, parts, tools, equipment, and machinery; operate light and heavy trucks.
- Assist with traffic control at road construction sites by directing traffic and coordinating equipment operators.
- Perform road and right‑of‑way repair and maintenance activities such as shoveling, raking, hauling, mixing, digging, and pothole patching.
- Use jackhammers to cut pavement for utility repairs and run hand‑compactors for gravel and cold‑patch operations.
- Repair drainage systems, including constructing catch basins, manholes, and repairing drain lines.
- Relay sewer services, lay pipe, repair pipes, repair sewer manholes, and perform masonry work as required.
- Relate water services, repair water mains, install hydrants, clean out water gate boxes, paint, test, and inspect valves and curb stops.
- Fabricate, erect, and repair street and traffic signs and their posts; prepare signs and barricades for special events.
- Paint roadway markings such as stop bars, crosswalks, handicap symbols, and parking spaces; maintain painting equipment.
- Maintain equipment by checking oil and fluid levels, tire pressure, belts, and making or arranging for repairs.
- Perform grounds maintenance: mowing, trimming, weeding, irrigating lawns, fertilizing, sweeping, tree pruning, and maintaining brickwork and concrete areas.
- Paint interiors and exteriors of buildings and repair building fixtures.
- Maintain playing fields, blow and drag sanded areas, and relocate recreational equipment for programs.
- Maintain cemeteries, lay graves, dress graves with artificial grass, and repair monuments.
- Supervise co‑workers and part‑time seasonal employees as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED; six months of experience as a laborer or truck driver, or a combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. - Licenses and
