Position Summary

Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation is hiring Temporary Parking and Booth Attendants to assist with summer operations at Ramsey Creek Park and Beach Access. The incumbents will begin work during Memorial Day weekend and end after Labor Day weekend. These positions provide overall customer service to patrons, including monitoring grounds, answering questions and ensuring guest safety. Selected candidates will work up to 40 hours per week, including weekends based on business needs, and must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Customer service experience
  • Cash handling experience
Essential Functions
  • Perform general grounds keeping such as picking up trash and debris
  • Load and unload heavy material from trucks and vans
  • Perform facility maintenance tasks
  • Perform general custodial work
  • Perform general laborer-type work
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience:

    No experience required
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? N/A
  • Licenses and

    Certifications:

    Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License and County Driving Privileges
  • Computer

    Skills:

    General knowledge of applicable computer programs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge:
    Light equipment used in maintenance, grounds keeping, and construction;
    Occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions;
    Basic tools used in maintenance and construction work
  • Skills:

    Operating a chainsaw and brush cutter, blowers, sweepers and other assigned equipment;
    Performing heavy manual labor, sometimes in adverse weather conditions
