We are looking for candidates who have a passion for helping court‑involved youth. The Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention is committed to the reduction and prevention of juvenile delinquency by effectively intervening, educating, and treating youth in order to strengthen families and increase public safety. This position is located at CA Dillon JDC in Butner, NC.
Job Duties- Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on buildings, grounds, equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Conduct regular inspections and complete assigned work orders with minimal supervision, addressing maintenance issues timely and thoroughly.
- Assist in maintaining grounds and operating groundskeeping equipment, ensuring exterior areas of the facility are well‑kept and functional.
- Collaborate with the supervisor to discuss non‑routine or complex maintenance tasks and ensure proper resolution of maintenance challenges.
- Participate in cross‑training opportunities within the Facility Maintenance Group to support a flexible and knowledgeable maintenance team.
- Assist with a variety of general maintenance‑related duties as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall upkeep and functionality of the facility.
Must have a Valid Driver’s license upon hire.
Management Preferences- Skilled in diagnosing and repairing maintenance issues.
- Ability to operate and maintain maintenance equipment and tools.
Grade: NC06
Salary Range: $34,270–$59,973
Minimum
Education and Experience:
- High school or GED diploma and one (1) year of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Journeyman‑level skill in at least one trade (carpentry, cabinet making, roofing, painting) and working knowledge of others.
This is a full‑time position, 8:00 am–5:00 pm. It is considered essential and may require presence regardless of weather conditions and may include on‑call status.
