Location & TypeUConn Storrs – Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Salary: $42,244 – $52,788 annually (starting at $21.59 per hour).
Schedule3rd shift: 11 pm – 7 am, Friday through Tuesday (11 pm Thursday to 7 am Tuesday).
EmploymentEmergency Support Services / Essential Staff. May be required to work during emergency closures, winter weather, or significant campus events, including overtime (nights, weekends, holidays).
Job SummaryAccountable for performing a full range of basic custodial tasks and maintenance in the Student Union building and related facilities under the Student Union and Event Services department.
Key Responsibilities- Perform custodial tasks in administrative offices, meeting rooms, lounges, theatre, restrooms, lobby areas, and outdoor spaces.
- Dust, mop, sweep, scrub, strip, wax, and polish floors using appropriate equipment.
- Clean glass surfaces, windows, woodwork, walls, furniture, and metal equipment.
- Collect and dispose of trash, and perform recycling as instructed.
- Report equipment in need of repair, perform minor maintenance, run errands, and inspect buildings for damage.
- Change light bulbs, lubricate door hinges, drawers, or cabinets.
- Remove snow and ice from stairways and walkways; apply sand and salt when needed.
- Move furniture and set up meeting rooms for events.
- Perform other duties as required.

- A minimum of three years of custodial experience.
- Custodial experience in an educational setting.
Incumbent must have adequate strength, stamina, agility, visual and auditory acuity, and be able to perform required duties. A physical examination is required.
Working ConditionsMay be required to lift moderate to heavy weights and may be exposed to risk of injury from equipment or individuals.
