The RoleTo maintain a range of building services, plant and equipment, diagnosing and repairing faults as they occur, and maintain NHSL’s mechanical, electrical plumbing, and associated building services plant and building fabric assets to a high standard.
In This Key Role, You Will- Provide technical expertise, including operating and maintaining safe and efficient systems of work for all building services.
- Diagnose, report, and repair defects in engineering, electrical and building services to ensure statutory compliances such as water management, low voltage, pressure/water systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems are adhered to and maintained.
- Understand the working of building services and engineering systems in NHS buildings.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, including any corrective maintenance required using work requests and completing all records and documentation required.
- Work to NHS Lanarkshire’s Health, Safety and Departmental Policies and Procedures, ensuring work carried out in NHSL Estates is in line with department health and safety management systems and statutory compliance; contribute through the Health and Safety Forum to ensure continued improvements to these policies.
- Completion of apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical bias plus an HNC or equivalent, with additional non-core training qualification at SVQ level or equivalent.
- Experience of working in an estates service environment.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of current statutory legislative requirements.
- Experience of inspecting and planning in relation to PPM and Reactive work.
- Requirement to undertake in-house training relevant to the position such as specific statutory training, Archibus, Learn Pro and Toolbox Talks.
- Postholders are also required to develop additional skills through training provided in other specialist areas such as complex air conditioning systems; evidence of such skills will be demonstrated within the job description.
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
