Long Term Substitute Custodian – Helen Keller Middle School | Job

Hours: During training – Monday – Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Salary: $24 per Hour
Qualifications- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
- Clean and monitor designated spaces and equipment in the building, including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and waxing floors; remove rubbish
- Clean and disinfect bathroom sinks, toilets, urinals, and mirrors
- Check hand soap, paper towel, and tissue supplies
- Replace light bulbs as needed
- Unlock and lock premises, secure windows, and activate/deactivate the alarm system
- Clean and maintain custodial equipment daily after each use
- Assist in unloading freight as needed, delivering to specified areas
- Move classroom furniture as needed
- Frequent walking, bending, twisting and lifting (up to 50 lbs. such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks)
- Continuous use of hand strength to grasp tools and cleaning equipment and climb on ladders
- Push/pull items such as tables, bleachers and/or cleaning equipment
