Cleaning Ambassador

Pay Range: $17.50 per hour

• 9:00am to 5:30pm
• Weekend availability required

Valid SC Driver's License Preferred (clean driving record)

• Provide a high level of visibility at street level to carry out a wide variety of cleaning tasks in the assigned zone while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile, provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal: while moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter such as fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on streets, sidewalks, and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc.
• Pull weeds that grow at the base of tree wells, in cracks in the sidewalks, and in vacant lots.
• Damp-wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Complete basic daily reports of tasks completed, requiring proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.

• Experience preferred, but not required – training provided.
• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Physical capacity to walk or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
• Ability to work outdoors in all conditions (free uniforms provided).
• Ability to speak, read, and write English for basic reporting.
