Maintenance & Repair Technician; On-Call

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist moving crew when necessary.
• Responsible for repairs assigned by repair crew lead.
• Responsible for seeing that all work schedules assigned by repair crew lead are carried out.
• Repair and maintain furniture, equipment and other items as assigned.
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of repair shop.
• Assist in the set-up of special District events.
• Support activities of repair crew lead.
• Assume the responsibilities of a custodian when necessary.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed and be on-call/stand-by as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Some mechanical experience
• Safe driving record

Education/Certification:

• Valid High School Diploma, GED, or related experience
• Valid Texas Driver’s License

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

• Organizational skills
• Must be able to operate all vehicles and equipment belonging to Custodial
• Must have strong mechanical skills

Wet and dry vacuum cleaner, District delivery vehicles, forklift, electric drill, hand tools, etc.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Working indoors and outdoors. Lifting of heavy furniture and equipment (up to 75 pounds).

PAY GRADE: AUX-4 - Minimum hourly rate - $17.50
