POSITION TITLE:
Repair Crew
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To maintain and repair furniture, equipment and other items wherever needed throughout the District. This position will entail some extended hours, evenings, and weekends.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist moving crew when necessary.
* Responsible for repairs assigned by repair crew lead.
* Responsible for seeing that all work schedules assigned by repair crew lead are carried out.
* Repair and maintain furniture, equipment and other items as assigned.
* Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of repair shop.
* Assist in the set-up of special District events.
* Support activities of repair crew lead.
* Assume the responsibilities of a custodian when necessary.
* Respond to emergency calls as needed and be on-call/stand-by as assigned by supervisor.
* Maintain confidentiality.
* Regular attendance.
* Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
* Some mechanical experience
* Safe driving record
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
* Valid High School Diploma, GED, or related experience
* Valid Texas Driver's License
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
* Organizational skills
* Communication skills
* Must be able to operate all vehicles and equipment belonging to Custodial
* Must have strong mechanical skills

Wet and dry vacuum cleaner, District delivery vehicles, forklift, electric drill, hand tools, etc.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environment Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Working indoors and outdoors. Lifting of heavy furniture and equipment (up to 75 pounds).
