As a Full‑Time Day Custodian, you will ensure existing facilities are kept clean, safe, and well‑maintained.

• Exterior – clean perimeter of school building, parking lot, playground, windows, and any other area assigned by supervisor
• Interior – clean hallways, restrooms, offices, classrooms, multi‑purpose room, and any other area assigned by supervisor
• Empty trash from all receptacles
• Dust FF&E, window sills, air vents, and other assigned areas
• Clean and sterilize restroom facilities
• Clean bodily messes (vomit, feces, urine, blood) according to training
• Remove waste in cafeteria for breakfast and lunch, assist with cleaning tables, maintain acceptable floor cleanliness
• Sterilize high‑use areas to reduce spread of bacteria and other harmful agents
• Assist Head Custodian with cleaning projects or tasks
• Assist with establishing preventative maintenance processes and monitoring systems for extended life of facility components
• Travel to nearby schools or warehouses/storage if required
• Participate in training programs to improve skills and proficiency
• Review current developments, literature, and janitorial sources of information related to job responsibilities
• Ensure adherence to OSHA and safety procedures
• Perform other duties as delegated by Supervisor
• Follow federal, state laws, and company policies
• Director of Projects & Facilities will annually assess performance with school administration, maintenance coordinator, and head custodian
• Carry hand‑held radio on school property if assigned by Supervisor
• Remain on school property from beginning of work day until the end, including lunch
• Receive a 30‑minute lunch break; lunch period may shift to meet school needs. Report and assist with all emergency situations as required
• Cannot leave campus for personal errands or school errands without permission from Facilities Supervisor

• High school graduate with continuing education in construction or facilities related fields
• Minimum 1 year of janitorial trade experience
• Must possess the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• May perform other duties assigned

Work environment characteristics:

• Usual school working conditions
• May be noisy during high student traffic periods
