We have an exciting opportunity open to join our Facilities team at the City as a Part-time Building Support. The City of Coon Rapids employs a great team of people dedicated and service centered! Work Hours
  • Work 4 days a week, up to 24 hours.
  • Hours scheduled during 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Anticipated Hiring Range

$18.99 – $20.10/hr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains the City Facilities by performing preventive maintenance, different room setups. General basic repairs and preventative maintenance in all City buildings.
  • Ability to perform snow removal of sidewalks, applying salt where needed and ensuring that all walkways are maintained in appropriate manner.
  • Provides service to customers for effective and efficient execution of City events (i.e. set-up and breakdown of facilities, meeting and event set-up, and assembly); provides a safe, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere for all community guests.
  • Assists Facilities Engineers and Technicians with monitoring equipment to ensure that the building’s systems perform efficiently and safely.
  • Maintains and improves the appearance and operation of City facilities by performing minor repairs.
  • Supports division cross-function initiatives by developing skills, applying technical knowledge, and assisting with projects.
  • Regular and reliable attendance during scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary.
  • Maintain positive professional working relationships with all staff levels, other jurisdictions and outside agencies and the general public.
  • Performs essential position duties and responsibilities under the working conditions and physical demands described herein.
  • Effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations and citizen customers.
  • Performs other related functions as apparent or delegated.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
  • Ability to operate floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, saws, planers, band saws, carpentry tools, and other equipment as needed.
  • Ability to make repairs to walls, doors, windows, carpeting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and other building repairs.
