Overview
This individual will take ownership of fleet maintenance performance across a multi-site region, ensuring assets are safe, compliant, and fully operational. The role requires a hands-on leader who can directly manage technicians, collaborate with local leadership, and oversee vendors to drive uptime, efficiency, and cost control. This person will leverage data and field insights to optimize maintenance strategies, standardize processes, and elevate operational performance across the region while maintaining strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities- Oversee maintenance and repair operations for all fleet assets across assigned region
- Lead and manage mechanics/technicians, ensuring quality and adherence to standards
- Implement and enforce preventive maintenance schedules and repair workflows
- Partner with branch/location leadership to prioritize repairs and improve uptime
- Monitor KPIs such as uptime, downtime, work orders, and service intervals
- Manage third-party vendors to ensure timely, cost-effective, high-quality repairs
- Analyze maintenance spend, repair trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Conduct site visits, audits, and operational reviews across locations
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning for fleet assets
- Prepare reports on fleet performance, downtime, and maintenance costs
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to standardize maintenance practices

- 5–7+ years of progressive experience in fleet maintenance, fleet operations, heavy equipment, or asset management
- Proven experience managing maintenance/repair operations across multiple locations or regions
- Direct leadership experience over mechanics/technicians (performance management and accountability
- Strong knowledge of:
- Preventive maintenance programs
- Repair coordination and workflows
- Vendor/outsourced service management
- Asset lifecycle planning
- Experience analyzing maintenance data, KPIs, and cost trends
- Budget management and cost-control experience
- Working knowledge of fleet safety standards and compliance regulations
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in fleet management systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Valid driver’s license (preferred/expected for travel role)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fleet Management, Logistics, Operations, or related field
- Advanced experience with maintenance tracking or telematics systems
- Prior experience leading regional or multi-site operations at scale
- Strong background in continuous improvement and process standardization
