As a Custodian Year Round, you will maintain overall cleanliness of the school or facility, perform minor repairs and general maintenance, and promote good community relations with various stakeholders.

• Cleans assigned areas of the facility, including classrooms, hallways, rest rooms, and common areas.
• Tidy and dispose of trash.
• Vacuum and clean floors.
• Perform general maintenance tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility.
• Ensure the general security of the facility during your shift.
• Maintain outside areas of the facility, including parking lots and grounds; may also perform snow removal.
• Assist with student supervision when required.
• During summer months perform total building cleaning and general maintenance; may be assigned to district crew projects in maintenance or construction.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
• Observe all district policies and procedures.
• Clean assigned areas following school activities and events, including occasional evening and weekend work.

• Some dirt and dust, odors, fumes, hazardous materials, and temperature extremes.
• All buildings and grounds are tobacco free.

• Constant lifting 5 to 20 pounds.
• Frequent lifting 20 to over 50 pounds.
• Constant standing, walking.
• Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, climbing, kneeling.
• Occasional crawling, sitting, stooping.

• Education and Certification: High School diploma.
• Experience and Skills:
  • Experience with cleaning equipment and machines.
  • Some knowledge of maintenance and repair.
  • Some knowledge of handling cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Flexible and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
