Facilities Services Maintenance Student Worker
Facilities Services Maintenance Student Worker. This position will assist in light maintenance duties, repairs and painting around campus and in university buildings, located in Corvallis, Oregon.
Position SummaryThe incumbent will provide support for a variety of light maintenance tasks, including painting, furniture assembly, and equipment handling. Operations include conducting regular maintenance on mechanical rooms, repairing fixtures, and assisting with larger projects as needed.
Core Responsibilities- Assemble furniture and install/replace ceiling tiles.
- Paint surfaces, remove graffiti, and apply finishes.
- Move furniture/equipment, install paper towels and toilet paper dispensers.
- Hang blinds, pictures, whiteboards, and replace air filters.
- Clean mechanical equipment, maintain mechanical rooms.
- Assist other employees, participate in large projects, and complete related duties.
- Complete work orders promptly, keep job‑log updates, and provide excellent customer service.
- Accurately track time and materials for all tasks.
- Must be enrolled in high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
- Maintain academic standing; students on academic suspension are ineligible.
- Meet minimal enrollment standards:
- High School student: regular enrollment or approved homeschool program.
- Undergraduate and post‑baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term.
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*.
- Graduate student admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term.
- Graduate international student admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and use computers proficiently.
- Pass a DMV background check and meet all criminal history requirements; position is security‑sensitive.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; be able to drive a university vehicle on behalf of the university.
- International students may carry fewer hours if approved by the Office of International Services (OIS).
- Experience in a fast‑paced environment with strong customer service skills.
- Experience in facilities maintenance operations.
- Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
Approximately 20 hours per week during academic semesters, with potential for up to 40 hours during summer and academic breaks.
