Student Landscape Maintenance Worker

Job Description:

This recruitment will be used to fill eight part‑time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Landscape Maintenance Worker positions for the Facilities Services – Landscape Shop at Oregon State University.

• Pruning
• Weeding
• Mulching
• Mowing
• Planting
• Pavement cleaning
• Leaf removal
• Litter removal
• Manual watering
• Snow/ice removal
• Operate power equipment such as mowers, weed‑eaters, edgers, and backpack blowers

• Teamwork, strong communication skills, and ability to work independently.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather, stand for long periods of time, and able to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
• This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OSU Standard ) as per OSU Standard  et seq.

• Strong preference for applicants available to work up to 40 hours per week during Summer
• Experience in landscape maintenance is preferred.
• Previous work history outdoors including physical labor.

We offer a flexible work schedule tailored around the student’s academic schedule. Work will occur Monday thru Friday between the hours of 6:00am and 4:30pm.
