Summary:
The Maintenance Reliability Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance plans that maximize equipment reliability, safety, and production uptime. This role serves as the primary administrator of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and supports asset management initiatives through the application of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles, preventive maintenance optimization, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate has experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environments, preferably within a foundry or steel mill. This individual will work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and storeroom personnel to ensure maintenance activities are effectively planned, scheduled, executed, and documented. A results-oriented maintenance professional who combines strong planning and CMMS expertise with reliability and asset management knowledge. The ideal candidate drives continuous improvement, reduces reactive maintenance, improves equipment uptime, and partners effectively with operations to achieve production and maintenance objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned. This position is a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position.
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Develop detailed maintenance job plans including labor requirements, tools, materials, permits, and equipment access requirements.
- Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities.
- Build maintenance work packages that contain safety requirements, procedures, technical drawings, parts lists, and resource needs.
- Monitor work order backlog and prioritize activities based on safety, reliability, production impact, and asset criticality.
- Support outage and plant shutdown planning activities from scope development through execution.
- Plan the work for outside contractors, make contracts, field investigations, file searches to define scope of work and organize jobs in a timely manner.
- Utilize the CMMS to improve, modify and add Bill of Materials (BOM), Preventive Maintenance
- Tasks (PM), controlled documents, standard job plans, JSA, drawings, etc.
CMMS Administration
- Serve as the primary CMMS administrator.
- Maintain accurate equipment hierarchies, asset records, BOMs, PM programs, and maintenance history.
- Ensure work orders are properly documented, coded, and closed with accurate labor and material reporting.
