Hotel Chief Engineer

Position

Chief Engineer – Ramada Costa Mesa / Newport Beach – Excel Hotel Group – Full Time – $29–$32/hr

We are looking for a Chief Engineer to take full ownership of maintenance operations at our Ramada Costa Mesa / Newport Beach property. This is a hands‑on leadership role – you’ll run the preventative maintenance program, manage the maintenance team, lead the safety committee, and keep the building in top condition.

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and building systems regularly to catch and fix issues before they become problems.
• Manage all building systems: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool/spa, fire/life safety.
• Build and run the preventative maintenance program.
• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise maintenance technicians.
• Manage outside contractors for specialized work.
• Serve as Safety Committee Leader—run safety trainings, maintain PPE, ensure OSHA compliance.
• Develop and manage the maintenance budget.
• Track parts/supplies inventory and handle procurement.

• 3–5 years hotel or commercial building maintenance experience, at least 1 year in a lead/supervisor role.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and pool maintenance.
• Strong communication skills — can direct a team, coordinate vendors, and report to management clearly.
• Physically able to stand/walk 8+ hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable and self‑directed.

• EPA 608 or HVAC credentials.
• CPO certification.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
