Job Description
Level 4 Lead Installer responsible for quality installation of equipment in telecom, data center, and outside plant environments. This field‑based position requires up to 100% travel.
Responsibilities- Install equipment in telecom, data center and outside plant environments.
- Perform additions, removals, and modifications on non‑working equipment and circuits.
- Maintain battery installation and maintenance.
- Install auxiliary framing, cable racks, raceways, and busways.
- Install DC power, transport, and data‑center specific equipment.
- Perform hot work such as DC power additions and circuit transitions.
- Analyze job drawings, specifications, and MOPs on site to resolve any issues prior to job start.
- Ensure quality installations by conforming to all applicable standards and participating in quality auditing processes.
- Perform all work with safety as the top priority, following company and customer mandated procedures and using proper PPE.
- Oversee assignments, time management, training, and development of all personnel assigned to the job.
- Maintain professional appearance and provide outstanding customer service.
- Act as the lead for all jobs including hot work and project management.
- Participate in project meetings to report progress, issues, and forecasts.
- Able to perform site‑survey functions to aid in the development of new projects.
- Minimum 6 years of accumulated experience or equivalent as per Telcordia specifications.
- High school diploma or technical degree preferred.
- Special electronics training or work experience.
- Knowledge of industry and customer specific standards such as GR‑1275, TP76300, IP72202, etc.
- Strong verbal, written, and customer‑facing skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment.
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently sit, climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
- Must consistently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
- Frequent driving and must be able to adapt to extreme cold, extreme heat, and working around moving machinery.
- Use of protective equipment such as earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, and mask as required.
- Travel required.
- Flexible schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- May have on‑call responsibility.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States required; sponsorship for work authorization will not be provided.
