Janitorial Cleaner-Ottawa

This position is responsible for creating cleaner and healthier environments for our customers' buildings and grounds by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

• Perform all cleaning duties for facilities using provided Service Master products, tools and procedures.
• Clean floors by sweeping and mopping.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use proper PPE where required.
• Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security system as required.
• Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude, being in uniform, dependable and on time.
• Respect and understand co‑workers and customers.
• Work independently and be quality driven.

• 1–2 years’ experience as a custodian, janitor, housekeeper is a plus but not required.
• Experience with a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital or school is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn; on‑the‑job training will be provided.
• Flexibility and ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasked environment.
• Physical abilities: constant standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching over head and forward, and ability to lift and/or carry 25 lbs.
• Ability to read cleaning instructions.
• Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses.

Monday through Friday, 4 hours and 20 minutes each evening anytime after 5 pm, totaling 21.67 hours per week. Weekly pay period.
