Facility Maintenance Worker II
Greenup County Area Technology Center in Greenup, KY is looking for a Facility Maintenance Worker II who is dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of students. - Coordinate and perform general maintenance and various janitorial duties in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment.
- Coordinate and plan the maintenance services of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment in accordance with Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) standards, and coordinate with supervisors and facility managers to prioritize work orders and allocate resources efficiently.
- Perform carpentry repairs to buildings and equipment; perform painting on buildings and equipment.
- Makes routine plumbing repairs, sewage system repairs, and electrical repairs on equipment.
- Operate machinery and equipment for mowing and trimming lawns.
- Paint surfaces such as walls, doors, and other surfaces as required; move furniture, equipment, etc., when necessary.
- Perform janitorial duties in maintaining buildings and adjacent areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: None
Experience, Training, or
Skills:
One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.
Substitute Education for
Experience:
Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

Education:
None
Special Requirements (Age, Licensure, Regulation, etc.): Must be 18 years of age.

Incumbents may be exposed to extreme temperatures. Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment.
Probationary PeriodThis job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
